i wish i had this much energy

bits and pieces

bits and pieces - that's what this blog post will be, and that's how my brain is working these days, what with a crying newborn and a teething toddler and a barking boston terrier and a chaotic condo about to hit the market.  so, forgive the lack of cohesion in this post.  i want to memorialize the beauty and hilarity of this time, but find myself unable to do more than spit out bits and pieces of what life is right now.  maybe that sums it up better than a pretty paragraph, anyway.  here we go.

this kid.  see how he how he looks a little crazy in the picture below? 

well, he's a little crazy these days.

well, he's more adorable than ever, too.  

see, being two isn't easy.  and it really isn't easy when you're two and all of a sudden you have a new little sister, even though you love your sister very much.  and it especially isn't easy when you're two and you have a new little sister and all of a sudden your molars start coming in.  when all of that happens, you start whining a lot more, and needing your mommy a lot more, and waking up in the middle of the night a lot more (more than your new little sister, in fact).  

will has managed to keep his chin up, though, thanks mainly to thomas the train and popcorn.  

here are some of my favorite lines the boy has uttered in the last couple weeks:

want to pay some twains, daddy?

or mommy.  or even bean.  constantly.

dat car is poopin'.

not sure. we're talking about poop a lot these days.

ders a hair in my butt.

his butt itched?

kin havin' da humidifier

pacifier.  it sounds a lot like humidifier, right?

to get my attention:

i have tummy ache, mommy.

i want a snack, mommy.

i have a big poop, mommy.

and when all else fails, 

i NEED you mommy i NEED you!!!

which is how he's spent much of the last month.

and now onto the other little one around here.  the mighty quinn.  

did i mention that quinn rolled over from her tummy to her back the day we brought her home from the hospital?  and she's done it every day since?  girlfriend is strong.  that's one of our nicknames for her - girlfriend - along with soul sistah, sister sue, q-ball, and sweet sissy melissy.  also, girlfriend can sleep.  girlfriend slept from 11 to 6 the other night, and regularly sleeps from 10 to 4!  

it's phenomenal.
