marco 2012
we arrived home yesterday after spending what's become our annual week in marco island, florida. we were joined by grandma and grandpa condon, uncle matt and auntie katie, bean and olive (will's sweet pug cousin). you should have seen us all barreling through the airport, colin with will's car seat on his back, bean in her carrier over his shoulder, and over-stuffed suitcases in both hands. he's a good daddy, that one.
this year was extra exciting because will could really enjoy the pool and beach. and the stairs. lots and lots of stairs. he showed no fear of the ocean and loved dancing in the waves. he also deemed it his mission to put every seashell he found back into the sea. naturally, he was very busy.
i had been particularly worried about will's sleep because he's extra sensitive to new environments, but when the first few nights went off without a hitch i thought we were in the clear. we weren't, of course. all past sleep patterns and tendencies were thrown completely out the window by wednesday, when will decided he would no longer fall asleep on his own in the crib. Not for a nap, not for bedtime, and especially not after waking up in the middle of the night. many car rides ensued, one at 3:30 in the morning. by friday it was clear we were crashing and burning, and our floridian lifestyle was unsustainable. many thanks to grandma and grandpa for those early morning walks and books. we couldn't have done it without you.
and now, a few of my favorite images from marco 2012.

note: one important person is missing from these pictures: grandma, one of will's truest loves. i guess when you're so busy cleaning and making everyone meals and holding the baby and keeping things generally together, you're not likely to be in a photo shoot. must be a mom thing.
thanks for the memories, marco!
